We are in the process of providing a comprehensive update to our COVID-19 prevention plan and will send out an announcement once it is published. In the meantime, here are some basic requirements that you should be aware of.
COVID-19 School Requirements and CCCS Prevention Strategies:
- Masks are optional for all outdoor settings at school.
- We will no longer need to implement previous physical distancing requirements in the classroom.
- CDPH continues to emphasize the importance of vaccination for all eligible students and staff.
- All students and teachers (regardless of vaccination status) will need to provide and wear face coverings while indoors at school. Extra masks will be available at school.
- A face shield with a cloth drape is an acceptable alternative for medical and pedagogical exemptions* for teachers and students. Teachers that use an alternative covering will need to maintain distance from students indoors.
- CCCS will continue to provide additional handwashing stations and emphasize the importance of handwashing.
- CCCS will continue to emphasize good ventilation and air-filtration in the classroom.
- CDPH currently plans to re-evaluate the need for face coverings for schools in November.
*The following individuals are exempt from wearing masks at all times:
- Persons younger than two years old. Very young children must not wear a mask because of the risk of suffocation.
- Persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a mask. This includes persons with a medical condition for whom wearing a mask could obstruct breathing or who are unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove a mask without assistance.
- Persons who are hearing impaired, or communicating with a person who is hearing impaired, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication.
- Persons for whom wearing a mask would create a risk to the person related to their work, as determined by local, state, or federal regulators or workplace safety guidelines.
Thank you so much for your cooperation as we continue to provide a comprehensive COVID-19 prevention plan and comply with state issued requirements.
Warm regards,

Dear Middle School Parents,
As we begin a new year and institute our new extended care program for Middle School students, please remember that any grade 6-8 students who are not at sports practice and are not picked-up prior to 3:30pm will be joining us for Cougar Club 2. These students will be in Mr. Soliva's room or Ms. Oertel's room. Any students participating in CCCS middle school sports should be picked-up at the conclusion of practice or games as communicated through TeamSnap.
If you are picking up your child (grade 6-8) after 3:30pm please proceed to one of these classes to pick-up. After 5:00pm any remaining students will join Cougar Club in the MPR and stay there until they are picked-up which should be no later than 5:30pm.
Due to parent requests, we are also adding an hourly drop-in rate to the contract options and the updated form will be available on the website by tomorrow morning.
For any questions or requests regarding either of our extended care programs please contact Hannah Foster [email protected].

Dear CCCS Parents and Students,
Thank you for your continued partnership. We understand that with the continually developing COVID-19 situation, there are many questions regarding our policies and the latest direction from CDPH. Here is some essential information that we need you all to be aware of.
- Contact Tracing - If anyone in your household tests positive for COVID-19 or if your student has been directly exposed to an active COVID-19 case, please reach out promptly and directly to our contact tracing team. Kara Johnston - [email protected] and Kerin Jensen - [email protected] are our fully trained contact tracers and liaisons to Contra Costa Health Services.
- CCCS contact tracers will follow their training, CCHS protocols (line listing, contact letters, etc.), and comply with FERPA/HIPAA guidelines to protect the privacy of related parties in fulfilling contract tracing for COVID-19 outbreaks.
- Please do not make inquiries regarding potential exposures. We will contact you directly if your student has been exposed at school or school sanctioned events according to CCHS guidance and training.
- Vaccines and Testing - Many CCCS teachers and upper grade students have been fully vaccinated by choice. Currently staff vaccinations are voluntary but beginning October 15, 2021 CDPH requires that any non-vaccinated school staff participate in weekly COVID testing. CCCS is working to comply with this mandate ahead of the deadline.
- Your child was exposed to COVID-19 at school - What’s Next? (Resource from CCHS)
- Q & A for Parents - Close Contacts (Resource from CCHS)
- Please be familiar with our official, CCCS COVID Prevention Plan.

AUGUST 24, 2021
Dear CCCS Parents,
Over three days from August 31 to September 2, the middle and high school students will take assessment tests called Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). The testing covers three different areas: reading, language, and math, and is used to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, as well as from year to year. The teachers will be able to utilize the scores to adjust instructional strategies and better meet the needs of all students.
No special preparation or studying is necessary for the MAP tests. All we ask is that you have your child at school, on time, well-rested, and healthily fed each day of testing. Testing will be during periods 1 & 2 on Tuesday, periods 3 & 4 on Wednesday and periods 6 & 7 on Thursday. If any tests are not taken or finished over the testing dates, we will have students complete them the following week. The tests are administered digitally and students in grades 7-12 will use their laptops for testing. Sixth grade students will use school-owned computers.
Answers to frequently asked questions are below. There is also an abundance of information online about MAP, such as this family guide, if you are interested.
Sincerely,

Dear Parents,
The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are sending this letter to inform you about a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of our school community. The individual who tested positive (“the case”) was last on school premises on Monday September 13th.
Our school is working with Contra Costa Health Services to follow up with the case and we have contacted all persons identified as having had close contact with the case to initiate a modified quarantine according to the latest CDPH/CCHS guidelines and COVID-19 testing. If you are not contacted, it means that your child was not identified as having been exposed to the case.
Please remind your child to use their face covering and wash their hands regularly. Symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should be tested. However, many infected people do not develop symptoms, which is why it is recommended that exposed people be tested whether they have symptoms or not. Contra Costa County offers free testing services: call 833-829-2626 or visit coronavirus.cchealth.org/get-tested for more information.

OCTOBER 1, 2021
Good Afternoon CCCS Community,
Today, Governor Newsom announced a coming COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for all K-12 students in California who attend school on campus for live instruction. From what I have taken from the announcement, news stories, and discussion with local school administrators, the mandate will take effect for students in 7th - 12th grade in the following school terms (as soon as January 2022 but more likely in July 2022) after full authorization has been granted by the FDA for 12 year olds. For students kindergarten through sixth grade it will take effect the term after the FDA has granted approval for 5 year olds. Furthermore, the mandate will allow for medical or personal belief exemptions. At this time, I do not have any additional details.
I realize that many CCCS parents are thrilled with Governor Newsom’s announcement today, and I also realize that many CCCS parents are upset with Governor Newsom’s announcement today. To address this news, please allow me to encourage you as citizens of the state of California to be or continue to be involved in public policy and advocate for your rights and/or solution(s) to this ongoing pandemic. Let me also encourage you to pray and to trust in God’s sovereignty over this situation.
Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-7
You can rely on our continued commitment as follows: we will work hard to implement our COVID prevention plan while providing the most consistent, productive, and safe academic environment possible. Our mission is to be a distinctively Christian learning community, committed to excellence, preparing students to live out their purpose as builders of God’s kingdom. CCCS faculty, staff, and admin are focused on educating the students God has called into our classrooms to the best of our ability. This includes working to meet students' unique learning needs, providing live instruction, and nurturing social-emotional health through the development of positive relationships on campuses.
The CCCS position on the COVID-19 vaccine is: talk with your family, talk with your doctor, (if necessary talk with your pastor), and make the best medical decision you can while respecting the decision that others are going to make. CCCS will continue to follow and implement the required school guidance for private schools because this is honoring to God.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Dear CCCS Community,
Merry Christmas! We wish you all a safe and warm season of celebration with your loved ones.
We are reaching out with a few COVID-19 updates as we head into Christmas Break and our priority re-enrollment period which begins later this week.
Here’s what we know about the latest COVID-19 vaccine and regulation updates:
- California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is requiring masks to be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status, for the next four weeks (December 15, 2021 through January 15, 2022.
- Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) reports that all people ages 5 and up are eligible for COVID-19 vaccines through the state, county, and other health-care providers.
- Based on current information, the state’s 7th-12th grade mandate for vaccination by California students will likely go into effect July 1, 2022. This regulatory mandate must allow for personal belief exemptions unless legislation is passed to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required school vaccinations.
- The California Association of Private School Organizations (CAPSO) has issued a communication to the Governor expressing the concern of many private school parents and administrators over possible plans of legislators to introduce laws that would remove a personal belief exemption from the upcoming vaccine mandate.
- CCHS data shows the following percentages of Contra Costa County residents are fully vaccinated (2 doses):
- 21.5% of 5-11 year olds.
- 85.6% of 12-15 year olds.
- 89.3% of 16-19 year olds.
CCCS community COVID updates:
- CCCS has recently fared very well with no reported COVID-19 cases since mid-November.
- CCCS is sending home free COVID-19, rapid antigen tests with each student on Thursday of this week.
- Each kit contains two tests to be used at home three days (Jan. 1) and one day (Jan. 3) before school resumes on Jan. 4. Any positive test results should be reported to the school office ([email protected]) as soon as possible and students testing positive must isolate themselves at home. Use of this test is highly encouraged to help us prevent any outbreak following our Christmas celebrations and travels.
- A few local Christian schools have reported a recent rise in COVID-19 cases which have resulted in temporary quarantining of classes or divisions, and in one case, a whole school pivoted to distance learning this week.
- CCCS continues to comply with the latest state and county COVID-19 prevention requirements.
- CCCS teachers are either fully vaccinated or participating in weekly COVID-19 testing in compliance with current state regulations.
Thank you all so much for your continued partnership and support. We are so blessed by our wonderful community of parents, students, and our hard working team!
Blessings,

Dear CCCS Community,
Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome students back to school on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 as planned.
As we return to school we will do so with staff limitations due in large part to the rise of COVID-19 transmission and exposure in our community. We are working hard today to secure substitutes for a few teachers and it is likely that administrators and other staff may have to step in to cover a few classes as we get through this time. Several students will also be missing school this week due to COVID-19 transmission and other illnesses that took place over the break.
Here are some important reminders and developments as we return to school.
Kind regards,
Chris Winters

Several students will also be missing school this week due to COVID-19 transmission and other illnesses that took place over the break.
Here are some important reminders and developments as we return to school.
- Both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) have recently announced changes to quarantine protocols based on scientific research on COVID-19 transmission. The changes include a reduction of quarantine time to 5 days with strict adherence to using secure fitting masks following the quarantine period. Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) will soon be making an announcement in support of the latest CDPH guidance. CCCS will be following this new guidance.
- We encourage all of our families to utilize the at-home COVID-19 tests that we sent to you prior to the break. If your children or anyone in your household test positive please reach out to Kara Johnston [email protected] for direction on the latest quarantine measures. Students with fevers or contagious illnesses should also stay home from school in compliance with school policy.
- Please be sure to send your children to school with masks that fit properly each day.
- Please follow the latest recommendations and best health practices in order to help our school stay open in this period of higher transmission in our local community. Some local private schools scheduled extended winter breaks this year and others have had to transition to distance learning for a week due to high transmission rates in their school communities.

Dear parents and staff,
The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are sending this letter to inform you about a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of our high school school community. The individual who tested positive (“the case”) was last on school premises on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Our school is working with Contra Costa Health Services to follow up with the case and we are contacting all persons identified as having had close contact with the case. We have also initiated a quarantine (unmasked close contact) or modified quarantine (masked close contact) for any unvaccinated persons exposed to the case in compliance with the latest CDPH/CCHS guidelines. If you are not contacted this evening in a separate email, it means that your student was not identified as having been in close contact with the case.
It is important to note that while the CDPH and the CDC recently released updated general guidelines for isolation and quarantine, we have learned that these do not replace the specific guidance we have received for schools. Our COVID-19 response team has been in direct communication with CCHS and we are implementing the current protocols to the best of our ability. COVID-19 transmission is currently high in our county with an average of 1338 new daily cases at the present time.
Please remind your student to use their face covering and wash their hands regularly.
For more information about COVID-19, please visit www.coronavirus.cchealth.org/.
Ensuring the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff members is of the utmost importance to us.

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for your continued partnership and support. Like many other Bay Area schools, we have been experiencing a relatively high number of new COVID cases since school resumed in January.
At this point we are working on plans each day to provide coverage for absent staff. These coverage plans are consistently requiring use of all available substitutes and the use of additional staff to cover portions of each teacher’s responsibilities. While this has been difficult, we are thankful that we have been able to manage this well in most situations.
As we continue to persist through this latest wave of COVID cases and the consequential absences, we are determined to provide in-person instruction as long as we can do so safely and effectively.

As we continue to persist through this latest wave of COVID cases and the consequential absences, we are determined to provide in-person instruction as long as we can do so safely and effectively.
Summary of Important COVID Updates and Resources
- Contra Costa Health Services has updated instructions (CCHS) to schools regarding new cases, close contacts, and quarantine procedures. CCCS is following these guidelines to the best of our ability.
- We have closed our Preschool and Pre-K classes from January 11-14 due to COVID protocols for active cases, other absences, and our inability to provide sufficient staffing according to our licensure requirements during this period of time. Parents have been notified of the close contact procedures.
- Chapel services and large gatherings are only allowed outdoors for the time being.
- We have temporarily suspended high school sports due to a COVID outbreak among students in the program and the cancellation of games and in-person programs by other schools in our league.
- CCCS has received reports of positive cases by students in the Elementary, Middle School, and High School divisions this week. Close contacts have all received detailed instructions for quarantine or modified quarantine according to the protocols.
- We have emphasized the following safety protocols with teachers and staff during this period of high transmission (county avg of 1927 new daily cases ) in our community.
- Remind students to stay properly masked.
- Ensure proper ventilation and filter use in the classroom.
- Maximize distancing and report seating charts for use in identifying close contacts.
- Utilize outdoor areas for student dining.
- Sanitize frequently touched surfaces daily.
- Remind students to wash their hands frequently.
- Send students with obvious symptoms to the office for evaluation.
- Remind students to stay properly masked.
- At home antigen tests are recommended by CCHS for use by people recovering from COVID as they seek to provide a negative test and end quarantine. There is currently a shortage of at home tests available in our community. PCR tests are likely to continue to register as positive past the recommended quarantine period.
- Parents can help us out by keeping sick children home from school and avoiding unnecessary risks in social events during this period of high transmission.

Dear CCCS Community,
As you are aware we are continuing to navigate one of the most challenging times of the ongoing pandemic due to the overwhelming number of cases we have had to endure in relation to our faculty and staff. In addition, student cases have also been on the rise and have impacted every division of the school (Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School).
In the midst of these challenges, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) have been working to revise protocols for quarantine and isolation. As we receive the updated guidance it is clear that the state understands that keeping students in school is a vitally important priority for the overall health, wellness, and development of students. In fact, state and local authorities have emphasized to both public and private schools that remaining open for in-person instruction should be a non-negotiable priority.
As the virus and regulations continue to develop and change please understand that there are several guiding principles and dynamics that we should keep in mind:
New Guidance (Bottom line upfront)
The updated guidance for group tracing can be summarized as follows:
Further explanation of important updates in the new CDPH guidance
Thank you so much for your understanding, cooperation, and support as we move forward with the transition to this updated guidance. We look forward to brighter days ahead once this current wave of high community transmission subsides.
Blessings,

In fact, state and local authorities have emphasized to both public and private schools that remaining open for in-person instruction should be a non-negotiable priority.
As the virus and regulations continue to develop and change please understand that there are several guiding principles and dynamics that we should keep in mind:
- As head of school I am responsible for ensuring that CCCS is in compliance with our local and state authorities including CDPH and CCHS. This is my duty before the board, parents, and most importantly before the Lord. These compliance issues are vital to our school’s reputation, long term vision, and protection.
- As regulatory revisions occur there is added confusion and subsequent adjustments that require collaboration and time to review and adopt. Our leadership team is continually meeting with local administrators and local public health authorities to ensure that we are in a position to implement the latest regulatory mandates.
- Our teachers and staff have endured many COVID illnesses that have forced us to operate on a skeleton crew during this recent wave of community transmission. We are counting on parents to help by following protocols, reporting accurate information, monitoring student health, keeping sick children home, and supporting our staff.
- The CCCS contact tracing team (Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Jensen) are the authorities for communicating and implementing protocols for close contacts including isolation and quarantine directives.
- While the new guidance is more permissive in allowing students to stay in school you will likely notice that there is a wider net for identifying close contacts and more emphasis placed on testing.
- All of the guidance below is subject to further updates and revisions.
New Guidance (Bottom line upfront)
The updated guidance for group tracing can be summarized as follows:
- All student positive tests or the onset of COVID symptoms must be reported to CCCS.
- When an active case is identified at school:
- All students who have any classes or other close contact with the case will be notified and classified as close contacts.
- All close contacts (regardless of vaccination status) can remain in the full school program as long as they test negative within 3-5 days and remain symptom free. If multiple exposures occur in a period of high transmission students will need to test once a week and remain free of symptoms.
- Any new positive cases or unmasked exposures must complete the CDPH instructions for quarantine protocols.
Further explanation of important updates in the new CDPH guidance
- All positive student cases must be reported directly to our contact tracing team by calling the school mainline or emailing [email protected].
- A new group tracing protocol has been developed and may be used exclusively for close contacts that occur in the school setting while students are following masking and other safety protocols. The group tracing allows students who become close contacts to active COVID cases at school to continue to participate in all in person programs as long as they test within 3-5 days of exposure.
- Active case reported for student or staff that was present at school.
- Close contacts to the active case are notified within 24 hours of exposure.
- Close contacts must test within 3-5 days of exposure. If multiple exposures occur in a period of high transmission students will test once a week.
- All close contacts continue to participate in school unless they develop symptoms or test positive. Positive tests must be reported to school and students will follow quarantine directions in section 4 of school guidance.
- Active cases must clear all of the section 4 protocols to return to school.
- New CDPH instructions for quarantine after positive tests or unmasked exposure require:
- Staying home for at least 5 days (isolate from active cases in home)
- Test on day 5. Day 0 is the last known day of exposure for close contacts to begin quarantine. Day 0 is the day of symptom onset or a positive test for a new case to begin isolation.
- Students can return with a negative test, no fever for the previous 24 hours, and improving symptoms after day 5. Day 6 is the first possible day to return from isolation or quarantine when all conditions are satisfied.
- Isolation can end after day 10 for those unable or unwilling to obtain a negative test as long as the conditions of no fever and improving symptoms are met.
- The primary focus of the CCCS contact tracing team is tracking close contacts in the school and at official school functions (athletics, student activities, field trips etc.). For COVID exposures that occur in private family settings we will direct you according to the latest guidance when these developments are voluntarily self-reported. CCHS administers public contact tracing and is directing the general public to follow CDPH guidance for isolation and quarantine.
Thank you so much for your understanding, cooperation, and support as we move forward with the transition to this updated guidance. We look forward to brighter days ahead once this current wave of high community transmission subsides.

FEBRUARY 15,2022
Dear Parents,
Let me begin by sincerely thanking you for your enduring support and cooperation throughout the covid situation. Our parental community at large has been overwhelmingly positive, understanding, and supportive throughout the many changes and requirements of this ordeal.
As you are likely aware, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is making some changes to indoor masking requirements which go into effect on February 16, 2022. While the changes do allow for fewer public masking requirements for vaccinated individuals, it is important to be aware that the public health requirement for masking in all California schools currently remains in effect. CCCS leaders, like other bay area private school leaders, understand that it is prudent for the ongoing protection of our organizations to follow the guidance from public health authorities. Following the guidance is in the best interest of protecting each school from a liability and insurability standpoint. We have all been advised that from a legal perspective, veering significantly from public health guidance opens our schools up to unnecessary liability issues. It remains my conviction to follow this guidance at this time.
For those who are concerned about the future of the masking requirement in California schools, CALHHS Secretary Dr. Ghaly made several statements on February 14th about the future of mask requirements in schools including:
We do also recognize that some of our community members would strongly prefer that CCCS eliminate mask requirements. That day appears to be coming and we will look to the February 28th announcement for future guidance and a transition timeline.
I would be remiss if I fail to mention that while community transmission numbers are on a downward trend, CCCS continues to endure wave upon wave of new COVID cases. We do hope that we are on the tail end of this wave as the data suggests. As I write this I am on day 9 of my COVID isolation with a fever, respiratory issues, and fatigue. Since returning from break in January, we have struggled week after week to properly staff the school and keep the doors open in service to our community. Instead of being able to focus on improvement initiatives, we are forced to deal with the tyranny of the urgent which involves finding substitutes, covering duties, making alternate arrangements, enacting protocols, and preparing communications. So, while we do look forward to a future day without masks, we are also thankful for the methodical manner in which Dr. Ghaly and our public health leaders are preparing communities for this transition.
As we move forward as a Christian school community, it is important to understand that while we clearly have disagreement in our community regarding the handling of this pandemic by authorities at all levels, those of us who are believers are called to unity. We are called to lay down our own preferences and to love one another.
Everyone of us has experienced pain, loss, and grief through this pandemic. Some in this very community have lost loved ones to COVID, others have been robbed of opportunities and special experiences in very painful ways through the rules and protocols. Some have been blamed for spreading COVID or being reckless in their approach. Others have operated in fear that has been restrictive and even paralyzing at times. While each has acted according to their own preferences and beliefs, we are ultimately called by God to deny our own preferences, yes our very lives for the love of others.
Please endure with us a little longer and go out of your way to show preference toward one another. If you are eager for more liberty, it is coming. If you are fearful of change, trust in the Lord and make the personal decisions you believe you need to make for your families. But as a community, let’s think less of our own preferences and reflect on how we can love and care for others in this confusing and trying time. Jesus has shown us the way!

- The CDPH is continuing to assess data and will make an announcement on February 28th regarding the timeline for moving from a CDPH mask requirement to a mask recommendation in schools.

Dear Parents,
Yesterday the California Department of Public Health announced a change to state and county guidance related to face coverings in schools. Effective Monday, March 14, students and staff in K-12 schools and childcare settings will no longer be required to wear masks/face coverings. Technically, the relaxing of the mandate begins at 11:59PM on Friday, March 11, and the new guidance takes effect here at Contra Costa Christian Schools, the following Monday. Our county has committed to support this new guidance, so we have freedom to move forward as indicated above.
While many are eager to embrace this change, others may still choose to wear a face covering. We now enter a season where individuals should feel comfortable to decide what is best for themselves and for their families. In preparation for this change, please decide how you would like your family to proceed effective March 14. We’ll ask that you communicate your intentions clearly to your child(ren), as staff will no longer remind all students to wear a face covering as of March 14. Similarly, CCCS teachers and staff will be able to make a personal decision whether to wear a face covering or not on this date. I expect that some will continue to utilize face coverings and ask all members of our school family to respect these personal decisions moving forward.
We will continue to implement our COVID prevention plan and will update you in the coming days on any changes from Contra Costa Health Services guidance for active case response. Praise the Lord that we currently have no reports of new cases and are enjoying the reprieve.
I am going to keep this email short and sweet, closing with this reminder from scripture.
Philippians 2:1-2 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
Warm regards,
Chris Winters

Additional Resources and Guiding DocumentsThe CCCS administration has consulted with local school leaders weekly, attended numerous training webinars, and researched extensive industry guidance (ACSI, CSI, CDC, CDPH, CDE, etc.) in order to prayerfully develop this plan for safe and effective operation in the 2020-2021 school year.
All employees are responsible for using safe work practices, following all directives, policies and procedures, and assisting in maintaining a safe work environment.
Identification and Evaluation of COVID-19 HazardsWe will implement the following in our workplace:
- Conduct workplace-specific evaluations using the Appendix A: Identification of COVID-19 Hazards form.
- Evaluate employees’ potential workplace exposures to all persons at, or who may enter, our workplace.
- Review applicable orders and general and industry-specific guidance from the State of California, Cal/OSHA, and the local health department related to COVID-19 hazards and prevention.
- Evaluate existing COVID-19 prevention controls in our workplace and the need for different or additional controls.
- Conduct periodic inspections using the Appendix B: COVID-19 Inspections form as needed to identify unhealthy conditions, work practices, and work procedures related to COVID-19 and to ensure compliance with our COVID-19 policies and procedures.
Summary of Important Updates:
Contra Costa County follows the State of California’s guidance for K-12 schools, including:
- Staying Up-to-Date on Vaccinations: State and county health officials strongly recommend that students and staff get vaccinated against COVID-19 and remain up-to-date to protect themselves from serious illness.
- Masking: It is strongly recommended but not required that all people wear masks in K-12 indoor settings. Schools must develop protocols to provide a face covering to students who fail to bring face coverings to school and desire to use one.
- Optimize Indoor Air Quality: For indoor spaces, ventilation should be optimized, which can be done by following COVID-19 and Improving Indoor Air Quality in Schools. Facility maintenance staff may also review technical considerations.
- Testing: Due to the increased travel and social interactions that often occurs during school-breaks, it is recommended that students and staff get tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to school following major breaks (e.g., summer, winter, spring). Schools should follow the California Department of Public Health's Preliminary Testing Framework for K-12 Schools for the 2022-2023 School Year.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Is masking a legal mandate from the state?
- At the present time, there is no masking mandate in effect.
- What if we decide to withdraw from CCCS?
- All CCCS parents sign a detailed financial contract to enroll students for the entire academic year. The withdrawal terms and conditions are clearly explained in the financial contract (signed by all parents) and include a prorated fee schedule based on the date the written withdrawal request is received. Please be sure you carefully review the terms of the financial contract and the legal requirement for continuous enrollment in school before choosing to initiate a withdrawal. CCCS recommends maintaining enrollment in a fully accredited school and carefully researching any alternative plans before making this decision.
- When can students return to school following a case of COVID-19?
- Staff members and students with symptoms of COVID-19 infection may not return for in-person instruction until they have met CDPH criteria to return to school for those with symptoms:
- At least 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications; and
- Other symptoms have improved; and
- They have a negative test for SARS-CoV-2, OR a healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying chronic condition (e.g., allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g., Streptococcal pharyngitis, Coxsackie virus), OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset.
- Staff members and students with symptoms of COVID-19 infection may not return for in-person instruction until they have met CDPH criteria to return to school for those with symptoms:
- What if a student or teacher contracts COVID-19 and is instructed to quarantine while on-site instruction is being provided?
- CCCS will consult with Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) to determine the appropriate action and cooperate with contact tracing efforts including training for designated staff. CCCS will do our best to protect the identity of students and families as we cooperate with contact tracing protocols.

Greetings Families of CCCS,
I am reaching out to you by group email today to inform you that we had a Shelter in Place incident today on campus. At about 11:00am this morning, an officer of the WCPD came onto campus to advise us of police activity a few blocks away, near Geary. She advised us that it may be a good idea to bring all of the students into classrooms and shelter in place, so that if the need to call a Lockdown arose, we would be ready. There was no imminent threat on or near campus at that time.
We decided that the safest path was to call for a Shelter in Place, where students come into the classrooms, lock the doors, and close the blinds/shades. Students are to continue on with classroom activities. A Shelter in Place is quite different from a Lockdown, where there is an imminent threat on campus. The WCPD officer stationed themself on Larkey and then returned to campus to inform us of the apprehension of the suspect.
CCCS has a Campus Safety Plan which details our actions for various levels of threat. Our priority number one is to secure all students. Then, we will remain in close contact with the authorities in order to maintain the safety of all. Parent notifications will be sent out as soon as possible, through our group text function in FACTS.
Again, there was no threat to our students and staff at any point today. We acted out of an abundance of caution in case things changed quickly. Please take some time to allow your child to share their experience and their reactions to today's event. Reiterate that the school staff and authorities are all working to keep everyone safe. The best thing that they can do is to listen to their teacher and follow directions.
We will continue to practice safety drills according to our plan. In fact, this Thursday we are scheduled to participate in the Great Shake-Out, joining school across the country in completing an earthquake drill that day.
Blessings,
Tammy

Dear CCCS Families, As you are likely aware, on Tuesday, February 25th, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) gave a press conference updating the country on the current status of the coronavirus (COVID-19), and what steps should be taken moving forward. We wanted to share with you some of the steps our school is taking in light of these developments. As the CDC emphasized, there is not currently a coronavirus pandemic in the United States. A pandemic occurs when a disease is spreading from a variety of sources across a large region, and the number of cases across the US is still small. However, given how quickly the global situation is evolving, we are monitoring new developments and will continue to reevaluate our steps and actions daily. In the meantime, the most effective way to stay healthy and minimize the spread of infectious disease is to follow basic health best practices like:
In relation to our international program, we are working closely with our partners at Tower Bridge International Education, Cambridge, and AmeriStudent to implement policies and recommendations to protect our international and domestic students. In response to this developing situation, our administrative team has organized a task force to:
It is important to remember that handling the spread of a serious contagion like the coronavirus is primarily a task for public health agencies. We will be looking for directives from the World Health Organization, CDC, and local governmental organizations to guide our decision-making. In times like this, we are particularly grateful for the strength and common bond of faith in this community. Sincerely, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School March 5, 2020
Dear Families, During what is probably a challenging and confusing time for us all, I am reaching out to provide a status update on new developments related to coronavirus, and share some additional details about the actions we are taking and planning to protect our school community. The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is our priority. While the total number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. remains relatively small, experts expect this number to grow as testing increases and more individuals seek care. We are aware that a Contra Costa County resident tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and that he is being treated at a currently undisclosed hospital. Currently, the key recommendations from public health agencies to prevent the spread of coronavirus are regular, thorough hand-washing and that symptomatic individuals remain home rather than going to work or school. We echo this recommendation and ask that students with any signs of respiratory illness or flu-like symptoms be kept home. We are in contact with our local department of public health to stay updated on the situation and take actions as needed. Disposable wipes and hand sanitizer are available throughout our campus and we strongly encourage their use. Our administration continues to discuss how student learning can continue if we ever reach a point where it becomes prudent to temporarily suspend classes. In an effort to be proactive, we are developing strategies for providing age-appropriate, remote lessons to students, taking accessibility into consideration, as well as tools for staying connected as a community should it become necessary. We will communicate more details around what this will look like if and when it becomes necessary. Some of you have reached out with questions and concerns regarding school and community travel. Currently, we made a stand alone decision to cancel a school trip today that involved a mass gathering which included food service at a major hotel. That decision is not intended to set a precedent for any other trips at this time. We made the decision to cancel the trip out of an abundance of caution in relation to the nature of the event, concerning developments at the time, and potential for unnecessary risk. The event itself continued as planned and numerous schools in the area chose to participate. The status of future school trips is being closely monitored and discussed. We will do our best to give ample notification should we choose to alter any plans for those events. We understand that there is additional anxiety around travel that families have planned for this time of year. At this time, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended against nonessential travel to South Korea, Italy, Iran and China, but there are no other restrictions or recommendations against other international or domestic travel. We will all continue to monitor the situation for additional travel updates. If you are experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms following travel, please do not come to campus. Finally, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the psychological impact of this situation. The organized worldwide response to coronavirus has been robust and generally encouraging. However, it has also been a challenge for students (and really our entire community) to process. This New York Times article gives some good strategies on how to talk to children about coronavirus without raising the anxiety of anyone involved. I have been struck by the patience, support, and resilience I’ve already seen in our community as we tackle these challenges. You are our greatest resource. Should any significant or urgent situations arise, we will notify you directly via email and our emergency sms system through RenWeb. Please take a moment to be sure your current contact information (email, cell number, etc.) is up to date in RenWeb to ensure you are receiving our messages. Sincerely, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School MARCH 11, 2020
Dear Parents, You have received several emails from our Head of Schools, Mr. Winters, keeping you up to date about the procedures we have put in place to keep our school as virus-free as possible. Mr. Winters wrote a letter to you today, March 11, stating that a survey for grades K through 6 regarding technology access will be going out to help us prepare for remote learning; should the need arise. Let me stress that we have no plans to close our school at this time. This survey will help us gather the information, we need, in order to provide a smooth transition from a classroom to a remote setting if there was a need to so. Please click on the link to enter the online survey: SURVEY Smile, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal MARCH 13, 2020
Dear Parents, You have probably now heard from our Head of Schools, Mr. Winters, that we will be moving from a traditional classroom setting to a distance learning program beginning Monday, March 16th until at least Friday, April 3rd. As Mr. Winters stated, “We believe it is our responsibility to voluntarily make this adjustment now to contribute to the health and well-being of our greater community.” However, we are still committed to providing a rigorous and engaging distance learning education program to all our students. For the past two weeks, our teachers have been making the necessary preparations for a smooth transition. Middle and high school teachers will continue to use RenWeb to post assignments and grades and to communicate with parents. Teachers will also be using a variety of online platforms, such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, and other software that students are familiar with. Zoom, a video conferencing software, will be used for face-to-face instruction. Teachers have already begun speaking with students about what to expect from a distance learning program, and students have begun practicing using the Zoom platform. To make this transition as smooth as possible, students will have a day off on Monday, March 16th allowing teachers to work out the logistics in transitioning from a traditional classroom to a distance learning program. We understand that there will be technical difficulties, possible kinks in the scheduling, etc., therefore, we are asking for your patience, grace and flexibility as we extend the same to students and families. We will have a back-up plan in place for these technical difficulties, which may include the use of textbooks, videos that can be viewed at any time, telephone meetings, etc. Grades K-5 Monday, March 16th - No School Tuesday, March 17th - Because each elementary grade is unique, teachers will reach out to parents and share their daily schedule and to explain what the distance learning program looks like for their grade. Teachers will be using homework packets, platforms such as Seesaw and Zoom, and a variety of other tools to deliver instruction. Grades 6 - 12 Monday, March 16th - No School Tuesday, March 17th - Each teacher will reach out to students (and parents), via school email, inviting students from their class to attend a practice Zoom session at a specific time. Attendance will be taken, and teachers will share their daily schedule and explain to students what will be expected from them through the distance learning program. We expect technical issues on this day, this is why we will use it as our “dry run” day. Wednesday, March 18th - Distance learning program will officially begin. Our resource and academic support teachers, Deborah Mogianesi and Tara Dokken will also be continuing to service students. They will arrange a schedule with their students and families and explain what their program will entail. Our College and Career counselor, Janette Bissada will continue to reach out to students during this time. If you experience any technical difficulties, feel free to reach out to our technical support, Mr. Erik Tom at [email protected] or call him at (925) 934-4964 x228. In addition, our school office will also be open daily at 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Sincerely, LaTanya Williams, Ed.D. School Principal mARCH 14, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, Due to the recent CDC recommendation of having public events less than 100 attendees, Contra Costa Christian Schools is no longer hosting its Superhero and Villain Crab Feed and Auction on Saturday, March 21, 2020. We are sad that we cannot move forward with this annual favorite but believe it is the appropriate response in light of COVID-19. We are now exploring the possibility of doing an online auction for a later time and will have more details to share starting next Monday, 3/16. We appreciate your patience and grace as we solidify plans and the next steps. Sincerely Your Auction Chair, Maritere Guerrero MARCH 16, 2020
Hello, Middle and High School Families, Over the past two weeks, teachers began tentatively planning for the unlikely event of a school closure, and suddenly, here we are! As CCCS families and teachers transition learning from the physical classroom to a digital classroom, our community will need to pull together; teachers need the support of our strong parent community as we settle students into distance learning. We are aware that many families may feel stressed. Therefore, we want to encourage our community to join us in moving forward with flexibility and understanding. You can rest assured that our desire is to continue to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences for students at home. To help accomplish this, here are a few expectations and changes as we move into these next few weeks: Today, March 16 - As we write this, we are getting word of a county-wide shelter-in-place order that will likely be going into effect. In light of that, while most students have taken home textbooks, teachers will be putting extra textbooks in the front office that will be available until 4:00 pm today for any students who may not have had the chance to bring them home. Please check with your student if this is necessary before coming. If it is impossible, we will do our best to make other arrangements while still complying with regulations. Tuesday, March 17 (tomorrow) - Distance Learning Orientation Day
Wednesday, March 18 - Our New Distance Learning Class Schedule Begins
We look forward to seeing you online! In Christ, The CCCS MS & HS Staff MARCH 16, 2020
Dear Parents, Please be advised that Contra Costa County is issuing a shelter in place order which begins at 12:01am Tuesday. During this time, all non-essential businesses will be closed until April 7. CCCS teachers met today to finalize the schedule and operational plans for remote instruction during our previously announced closure. Our office will be open until 4pm today. Throughout the shelter in place order our teachers will do their best to continue providing service to students through our distance learning plan. Please understand that some of the essential office services which require access to data and resources on site will be suspended during this time. We are praying God's blessing and favor on this extended time you will have with your families. It is our hope that our team will be of service and comfort to your family throughout the shelter in place oder which is in effect for our county. Blessings, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School MARCH 16, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, We are pleased to announce that we are moving forward with an online auction! This is only fair and right as volunteers, students, and families have poured out countless hours procuring donations, creating class baskets, buying auction decorations and items, etc. At the moment, we are planning to have our online auction sometime in April or May. Auction ticket holders and event sponsors will have the option to choose between getting online auction credit, new sponsorship agreements, refunds, and or tax-exempt donations. We will begin to process refunds once school resumes and appreciate your patience as our school office will be closed in compliance with current county regulations to stay at home. Ticket holders and sponsors should expect to receive an email starting this week detailing how they would like to move forward. While I know this is a challenging time for us all, I remain hopeful that all things work together for good for those who are called according to God's purpose. Let us stir up one another to love and good works during this time and believe that God will supply our daily manna (Exodus 16) - for our families, kids, and beloved school. Thank you again for your patience and grace. In Christ, Maritere Guerrero Auction Chair march 17, 2020
Dear Students and Families, I am praying alongside our leadership, faculty and staff for you and your loved ones during this challenging time! I am here for any student who would like to meet privately on Zoom to talk through anything they might be going through, and to continue the counseling process for those I have been seeing this year. I will be on Zoom all day tomorrow but will also make myself available on other days as needed. Please contact me anytime through email: I will confirm a time that works for us and send you my Zoom link. May God bless you, and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace! Blessings, Mr. Diestler Chaplain (Philippians 4:6) MARCH 17, 2020
Way to go students, parents, and teachers! We have made it through DAY ONE of distance learning. This will be an AMAZING experience for you all. If you don’t think so, just wait and see. Smile There were some logistical issues this morning, but by the afternoon, things seemed to flow better. None of our students should have been marked absent or tardy. If they were, we will work to make the corrections. I would like to remind students of the following:
Remember, we are taking attendance beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18th. Parents and students should be aware of the following:
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the teachers, administrative staff, or myself. Blessings, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28) MARCH 20, 2020

Dear Parents, Last week was a successful week of distance learning. Thank you for your praises and appreciations regarding how well the teachers are doing. It’s an encouragement for them. Our teachers are working many hours to produce the best possible lessons through a distance learning program. There were a few kinks that needed to be worked out; but classes are running a little smoothly. Elementary classes will begin their Zoom learning this week. Please continue to keep them in prayer. It is more difficult to provide Zoom learning to squirrely little ones. These Zoom classes will not be as intense as the middle and high school classes; I don’t believe our younger learners can handle sitting for long periods of time. Please remind your children to maintain good posture during their Zoom/computer learning experience. They should take stretching breaks at the end of their sessions. Here are a couple links that address posture. However, please consult your doctor for expert advice on posture. As a note, March 27, 2020 is the end of the 3rd quarter. Report cards will be emailed by the end of the day Friday, April 17th. This will allow teachers to develop and/or complete appropriate assessments for the online platform and enter grades. Thank you for your continued patience while we move through this time of distance learning. Smile, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal MARCH 26, 2020
Dear Parents, Thank you all so much for your continued partnership while we contribute to the community effort to bend the curve on the spread of the coronavirus. We understand that this is a very difficult situation for parents and we are doing our best to extend a comprehensive distance learning program that is appropriate and tailored to each division of the school. I am reaching out to announce that the CCCS board of directors voted unanimously last night to extend our school closure to at least May 1, 2020. The following is a timeline and considerations that have been reviewed in the the decision making process.
In light of these developments, CCCS is currently closed and operating with our distance learning program until at least May 1. No scheduled school events or group gathering events (non-virtual) will take place until we resume. At this point, we should leave no room for doubt that we will not be attempting to send middle school students to Hume Lake this year. We will have our regularly scheduled spring break from April 13-17 in order to give students and teachers a rest from the distance learning program. CCCS will resume classes when the following conditions are satisfied:
We are doing our best to make both regular event plans and social distancing contingency plans for major, end of year events such as graduations and high school athletics banquet. We will update you after spring break on the likelihood of being permitted to hold some form of our traditional events versus alternatives such as postponing or going to a virtual platform. We will be reaching out with surveys to receive input from parents and students on the best way forward with those events. Thank you so much for the encouraging thoughts, words, and prayers you have shared with our teachers and staff during this time. We are hopeful that the efforts to continue our mission and calling through the distance learning platform is a blessing to each of our families. We look forward to the day that we are able to fully resume our classes and overall program on campus. Sincerely, The Administration Team Chris Winters - Head of School Tanya Williams - Principal Grant Padmos - Academic Dean march 27, 2020

Dear Parents, We are completing our first three weeks of online distance learning. I am so proud of our teachers and students. Several weeks ago, when we first talked about the possibility of schools closing in the Contra Costa County area, our teachers began discussions on how this would look for us. We decided on the Zoom platform with additional software as supports. Teachers were then quickly thrusted into distance learning faster than they had expected. Students missed only one day of school. For this, I applaud our teachers. Yay! When we started this journey, we had to quickly adjust to learning how to use technology in ways we hadn’t used it before. Teachers had to learn how to teach and present material in a new format. They had to learn (and are still learning) how to deal with challenges of motivating students to complete work, participate in physical activity, learn new technology, and engage with their peers differently. I have learned, from other administrators, that our school was and is further ahead of many private and public schools. Many of my administrator friends have told me that it took them two weeks to get their students started with online distance learning. Other friends have stated that their students are still working on packets and will likely continue to do so until the end of the school year. Again, I applaud our teachers. Yay! We have not mastered online distance learning, but we are much better at it than when we began. While we are able to creatively engage students through inquiry-guided instruction, experiential learning, cooperative learning, student-led learning, and more, we would rather do this in a classroom setting and on field-trips and even while participating in sports. We miss the face-to-face engagement with students. Please note, we are not trying to replicate all of the elements of the school day hour for hour but rather, our teachers are focused on providing an alternative platform that centers on the desired learning outcomes and objectives for each unit of study. We are confident that our distance program engages students in a way that keeps them progressing in their academic achievement and overall holistic development. While the distance program by nature is generally accomplished in less time than we are accustomed to in a traditional school day, it is the model that is best suited to the overall situation at hand. If at any time you feel the need to give feedback about the downsides of distance learning or what isn’t going well, reach out to me, and we will determine if the suggested changes are doable and appropriate. Do keep in mind how hard the teachers are working to make this difficult situation as positive, fun, and as rigorous as possible without leaving anyone behind. We thank you for your support and encouraging words. Without you, we couldn’t do the work we are doing. Blessings, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal [email protected] APRIL 3, 2030

Dear Middle School Parents, This email is to update you on the Hume Lake trip that is scheduled for April 20-24th. You are probably already aware that we must cancel this trip due to COVID-19. In regards to the payment that was made for this trip, we will handle it in the following ways:
All refunds will be given at the end of the school year (June 2020). If you have additional questions, please contact our Finance Administrator, Mrs. Kerin Jensen at [email protected]. Blessings, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal APRIL 9, 2020
Dear families and organizational partners, In our continued efforts to coordinate with local leaders in protecting the health of our students, families, and staff, the CCCS board and leadership have unanimously decided to extend our distance learning program for the remainder of the academic year. While we are all truly disappointed in the realization that we will need to continue in this format to the end of the year, we are thankful for the opportunity to provide a comprehensive distance learning program. We are actively working on a detailed plan for honoring student recognitions and protecting the spirit of our end of year festivities. Ms. Tanya will be reaching out after spring break with a detailed update on how our end of year plans are taking form. In making the decision to continue the distance learning program until the end of the year, here are some of the major considerations that we have reviewed:
Given the united effort of all public schools in our region to extend closure for the remainder of the year, it is prudent at this time for CCCS to make an official announcement in similar fashion. Committing now allows us to focus our efforts on delivering the best distance learning program possible for the remainder of the academic year. We are incredibly thankful for the overwhelming support and commitment we continue to receive from our parents. We understand that this situation has created many challenges and hardships for each of you. Thank you so much for partnering with us as we continue in the distance program. While it is far from ideal, we are confident that our students are participating in a well designed program that is fostering their academic progress. Because of the excellent word that is spreading about our teachers and the distance program, we have received multiple inquiries from public school parents that desire to join our distance program immediately. While we appreciate their hardship, our commitment is to focus on our current students and families to provide the best possible program and avoid unnecessary distractions. We continue to welcome applications from prospective families for the 2020-2021 school year only. We are working hard to prepare for the numerous challenges and necessary adjustments that remain for re-establishing our full campus program in the fall. We understand that there are still many concerns that need to be addressed and we will be ready with new policies and practices to support the safest learning environment possible for our students as well as our faculty. We deeply appreciate your graciousness, support and continued resolve as we continue together in partnership. Dear CCCS parents, As we announced yesterday, we are preparing a 'State of the School' presentation which will be shared with CCCS families on Thursday. Please complete this brief survey in order to submit questions which may be addressed in our presentation and will also be used in the development of an FAQ sheet as we plan for our re-opening in the new school year ahead. The survey also features questions designed to help gauge your concerns about sending students back to school after summer break. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and understanding during this difficult time. We are extremely thankful for the wonderful group of parents that we are blessed to partner with. Please complete this brief survey by Monday morning if possible. Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School MAY 14, 2020
Dear Parents, We invite you to view our State of the School video presentation in place of our annual association meeting which had been initially scheduled for this evening. While this video delivers an annual report which includes some insights into our future planning, we have not yet reached a point where we can offer a detailed plan for what school is going to look like in the fall. We are working very hard on developing a plan that prioritizes safety, compliance with recommended protocols, and is considerate of the needs of our families. This is an arduous process and there is no 'one size fits all solution'. We are however encouraged as we collaborate with many private school leaders in our community to explore approaches and interpret guidelines. Ultimately, our leadership will develop and implement a comprehensive re-opening plan that is the best fit for CCCS. Thank you so much for watching our presentation and joining us in prayers of thanksgiving and petition in light of our present challenges. In Christ, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School MAY 15, 2020

Hello Parents, We are almost to the 2019/2020 finish line! It has been a wonderful year getting to know you all and the students. This year is passing so quickly. We experienced joyous days and not so joyous ones (COVID-19). We have learned that no matter what the days bring, we are “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37). Thank you for your patience, words of encouragement, and support of the school and staff. As we enter the “final stretch” of school, I would like to share a few important end of school dates. The last day of school is officially Friday, June 5.
We have scheduled pick-up and drop-off times for parents and/or students to pick up their personal items and drop off school items (e.g., books, iPads, computers, sports uniforms, library books, etc.). We are asking that elementary parents pick up their child’s items according to the schedule below. If middle school and/or high school parents are not comfortable with having their child come onto the campus, parents are welcome to pick up and drop off items for their child(ren). We are asking that all persons entering the campus during pick-up/drop-off times do the following:
Yearbooks have arrived! We will be distributing the yearbooks during the pick-up/drop-off schedule. Sports plaques and awards will also be available for pick-up. Please be sure your financial accounts are in good order. Yearbooks may be held until financial accounts are clear and/or payment arrangements have been made. For questions and/or concerns, please email Mrs. Jensen at [email protected]. Lastly, elementary report cards will be sent to parents on June 5, and middle school and high school report cards will be sent on June 12. Smile, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal may 27, 2020

Contra Costa Christian Schools is still moving forward with every day in-person classes on campus this fall. Our student's safety is our #1 priority and that is why we are limiting class size, adding new faculty, and putting safety measures and protocols in place. For parents varying in comfort level with sending their students back to in-person classes even with limited class size and recommended safety protocols in place, there will be a limited distance learning option at the start of the year for those interested. Our comprehensive plan is forthcoming and we will share the details very soon. Thank you for your patience! July 16, 2020
Hello Parents, I wanted you all to know that CCCS is aware that Governor Newsom will be holding a press conference at noon, tomorrow, July 17th. While CCCS is fully prepared to open on August 19th, we stand ready to adjust to any new directives which may be announced tomorrow. Our leadership team is poised to make any necessary adjustments to our plans and we are confident in our ability to deliver a high quality instructional program that best meets the needs of our families. Thank you for your ongoing patience as we all continue to cooperate with our leaders in limiting the spread of Covid-19. In Christ, Ms. Tanya, Ed.D. School Principal July 17, 2020

Dear Parents, As you may be aware, Governor Newsom released new directives for all California public and private schools this past Friday (July 17). In response to these new directives, we are meeting with our leadership team and teachers this week and we are actively revising our re-opening plans according to these new directives. We are also continuing to collaborate with other Christian and private school leaders in a concerted effort to create the best programs for our families in the coming year. Our leadership team will present a revised re-opening plan for board consideration, feedback, and approval on Monday July 27. Once approved, we will begin sharing plan details with the greater community later next week. We are confident in our ability to provide an excellent program and transition plan that is considerate of the needs of our students and families. Thank you so much for your understanding, patience, prayers, and support in these challenging times. We are blessed by your continued partnership. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School July 28, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, Our administration met with the Board of Directors Monday night (July 27) to present and discuss a revised plan for starting school in light of the recent developments including the Governor’s latest directives(CDPH Guidance), watchlist status, staff feedback, and guidance from Contra Costa County Public Health. The Board has unanimously approved our plan and we will be releasing the complete details later this week. For your planning purposes here is a general overview of the forthcoming K-12 plan:
We understand that both the distance learning program and the graduated plan to have students return to campus will be a significant logistical challenge to our families. We have taken your needs, overall safety concerns, liability concerns, government regulations, and the best opportunities for student learning into deep consideration in the development of this plan. We also acknowledge that some parents are very eager for us to apply for a K-5 waiver which may allow some K-5 schools to begin classes in person before our county is cleared from the watchlist. Please be assured that we have investigated the waiver requirements which are currently being developed and we will consider applying once the state and county authorities finalize the process and make it available to schools. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and understanding. It is our continued desire to serve each of our families to the best of our ability in the midst of these challenging circumstances. We are confident that our plan will allow us to serve each student according to the best and safest practices each step of the way. Kind regards, Chris Winters Head of School July 31, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, Thank you so much for your patience as we have continued to fine tune our working plan for reopening CCCS this fall. You are now invited to view our plan (click here) which has been published to the web and features live updates. The page includes an active table of contents, a section for frequently asked questions (FAQ) and additional resources. Please note that many of the details of this plan are specific to our K-12 program only. The preschool has separately communicated its opening plan. Please be on the lookout for further direction and our back to school digital packet next week. We will continue to update all COVID-19 related communications on our new COVID-19 site and will be inviting you to other opportunities to engage with us both digitally and in carefully planned, on-site formats leading up to our start date. Also, be on the lookout for program(class/grade level) specific information from our principal, Ms. Tanya Williams and your teacher(s). We deeply appreciate your continued partnership and all that you have entrusted to us as we seek the best way forward in these challenging circumstances. Kind regards, Chris Winters Head of School august 7, 2020
Hello Families,
As you know, students will be starting school on Tuesday, September 1. Teachers are scheduled to return to school Monday, August 10. They will receive professional development training over the next couple weeks. The training is designed to help teachers create a more robust distance learning program than what we had last Spring. Teachers will prepare lessons that are engaging and flexible enough to move back and forth from distance learning to in-person instruction. As teachers transition back to school, we will help students transition back to school as well. We have scheduled time for students to pick up their books and other supplies. They will also have the opportunity to meet their teachers and their classmates before going online (see schedule below). Due to the need to ensure social distancing and to avoid creating large crowds, only one parent will be allowed to accompany their child onto the campus at the scheduled time. We apologize in advance that we are not able to accommodate families with multiple children by combining grades. All families must enter the campus from Mallard and have their temperature checked. The gathering will take place on the blacktop where the basketball courts are located. Teachers will present a 20-minute program that will end with students picking up their books as they exit the campus near the administration offices on Larkey. Please follow the instructions of the teachers while on campus. Class schedules for elementary, middle and high school students will be shared soon along with additional information regarding the beginning of school. Blessings, Ms. Tanya School Principal “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 AUgust 21, 2020

Greetings Middle School Parents! We are excited for the school year! We are all in this together and at CCC we are looking out for our kids! As we prepare for a great year together, we're hosting a zoom meeting about navigating middle school at CCC. Feel free to join us at this optional Zoom meeting on September 3, 7:00 pm. Agenda is here. (Join with this Zoom link which we'll also resend the day of the event.) In the meantime, as we get closer to the first day of school, students will be receiving zoom links from their teachers as well as any additional information they want students to have before September 1. Feel free to contact me or any teacher if you have any questions or specific concerns. If your student can not log on to their school email yet, be sure and contact me or Mr. Tom! Blessings, Wendy Padmos and the CCC Middle School Faculty september 2, 2020
Dear CCCS community, Welcome to the start of the 2020 school year. We are excited to start classes following the extensive preparations we have made through training and collaboration to kick-off our distance learning program today (September 1, 2020). Thank you for your patience as we continue to evaluate and refine our reopening plans. From the beginning, we have viewed the CCCS Reopening Plan as a working document (subject to change) as the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) guidelines and protocols have been updated repeatedly. In the past few weeks there have been several significant developments that we would like to make you aware of. Waiver Update Many of you likely noticed that CCCS has initiated the waiver application process which will potentially allow elementary (K-5) students to return to class at some point this fall. Since the inception of the waiver application, changes to the waiver process and requirements have been made by local and state authorities numerous times. We have continually adjusted our plans behind the scenes and have now reached a point where we can share where we are at in the process. To date, CCCS has taken numerous actions in preparation for completing the waiver application including:
New Statewide Color Coded Tier System for COVID-19 Monitoring and Restrictions On Friday, August 28th, Governor Newsom announced that California has eliminated the state watchlist and replaced it with a new, color coded, tier system for monitoring the reopening of various sectors of the economy including schools. Contra Costa County is currently (September 1) in the purple (widespread) tier with a daily case rate of 10.8 (per 100,000) and a positivity rate of 6.2%. Data is now evaluated once per week and counties must remain in a designated tier for at least 3 weeks. New cases must drop to 4-7 (per 100,000) in order for Contra Costa County to advance to the red (substantial) tier. Once the county has moved to the red tier for two weeks schools may be allowed to begin to open in compliance with both existing and any additional CCHS guidelines. It has been repeatedly made clear that CCHS is our local authority on reopening. It is our sincere hope that CCHS will develop clear reopening guidelines well in advance so that we can make any necessary adjustments to our plans. Thank you again for your continued patience as we navigate the ever changing landscape of education in the COVID-19 era. We will continue to ensure that we are providing the best educational program possible at each stage of our reopening plan throughout the year. Our goal is to get back to daily on-site classes just as soon as it is permissible and reasonably low risk. Please be on the lookout for survey invitations for your grade or division level as we seek input on our developing plan options. Way to go students and parents! You have made it through the first week of school. Yay!
We experienced some technical difficulties this week, but I believe they have all been worked out. To compensate for this, we have decided to clear all tardies and absences that were recorded into Renweb due to technical difficulties. We do not want to penalize students for something they had no control over. I would like to remind students of the following:
Parents and students should be aware of the following:
For middle and high school students, remember that Monday is a holiday and your Tuesday through Friday schedule will be as follows: Middle school P.E. and Bible students, please follow the weekly schedule Mr. Coleman has sent out. It has the details of where you are supposed to be with Zoom links. Elementary students, please follow your regular schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the teachers, administrative staff, or myself. Blessings, Ms. Tanya Principal "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 September 11, 2020
Hi Middle & High School Families, The Middle and High School will be conducting its annual Back-to-School night via Zoom next week Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6:30 pm ~ 8:00 pm. We hope you can participate because, in addition to learning about your student's classes, it is a great way to build community by meeting the teachers and other parents. You can anticipate having a 10-minute Zoom meeting with each of your student's teachers where they will share information about the class, expectations, policies, etc. We will distribute a schedule with information about the appropriate Zoom links early next week. Hope to see you online! Best, Grant Padmos Academic Dean September 16, 2020

Dear Elementary Parents, Thank you so much for your participation in our recent survey. Our team has worked diligently to analyze the results and we are now finalizing our plans and preparations to open under the waiver. At this point, the survey results clearly indicate that the voluntary reduction option to reduce class sizes to 14 or 15 students is not going to work. In order to comply with the waiver restrictions from Contra Costa Health Services as well as the more general California Department of Public Health guidelines for opening schools, we will need to utilize a hybrid model which allows smaller cohorts of students (7-10 per class) to attend classes two days a week on-site and participate in distance learning for the remaining days of the week. Parents who wish to keep their children home and continue in full distance learning will also be supported as we make this transition. For planning purposes, you can anticipate receiving a detailed overview of the hybrid plan next week. The transition to the hybrid plan will likely begin during the week of October 12th. While we continue to implement the distance learning program, here are some of the actions we are taking to prepare for the transition in October:
We want to thank you again for your patience, support, and loyal partnership as we prepare for a smooth transition. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S., Head of School september 24, 2020
Hi Families, We are planning to administer the PSAT on campus to our Sophomores and Juniors on October 14. We have received clearance to do this from the Contra Costa County Office of Education, even if in-person instruction is still not allowed under the state tier system at that time. The exact schedule has not been set, but you can anticipate the testing to begin around 8:00 am and ending around noon. The PSAT serves as a practice test for the SAT that students normally take in the spring of their Junior year and/or fall of their Senior year. The PSAT is optional and scores are never reported to colleges & universities, though Juniors who score exceptionally well may qualify to participate in the National Merit Scholarship Program. We are planning for all sophomores and juniors to take the test. We will follow California school safety protocols for distancing, masks, ventilation and disinfecting. We recognize that some families may be uneasy with an in-person gathering like this. If you prefer that your child does not participate, please let us know. More details to follow in the coming weeks. Sincerely, Grant Padmos Academic Dean Spetember 29, 2020
Dear Parents, You may have seen the press release indicating that Contra Costa County has just moved to Red Tier status (4-7 daily cases per 100K) with an unadjusted rate of 6.7 new daily cases per 100,000 residents over the past week. We are definitely due for a big update but we want to be sure to do it in a way that is easy to follow. We have just presented plans to the Board of Directors for reopening plans for our elementary school under the waiver and for grades 6th-12th in the following weeks after the county has cleared the minimum of at least 2 weeks in the Red Tier status. By the end of this week, we will be emailing you a video presentation link with an overview of our newly adjusted opening plan which complies with all of the latest requirements from Contra Costa Health Services and the California Department of Public Health. This video will bring you up to date on all the latest developments and the emerging options you will have to transition to our hybrid program or continue in our distance learning program at your family’s discretion. We are excited to share these developments with you and we thank you so much for your patience as we continue the hard work of developing the best path forward for our learning community. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S., Head of School october 1, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, Thank you for your patience while we prepared this initial communication regarding our revised opening plans ahead of the upcoming transition to our elementary waiver opening. We are also sharing transitional plans for the middle school and high school in anticipation of achieving two weeks in red tier status in the near future. You are now invited to preview our opening plan in the following ways:
Thank you so much for your continued partnership. I hope you find value and support for your personal decision making as you review these resource links. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School october 6, 2020
Hello Elementary Families As you are aware, our elementary school will begin opening for hybrid learning (a combination of in-person and distance learning). You should have already received information about your child's schedule. If not, please contact your child's teacher. While you prepare for this change, I thought it would be a good idea to share a few tips on how to help your child transition to hybrid learning. 1. Help your child become orientated with the new schedule. Create and print your child’s schedule and hang it in their learning area at home. Highlight the days when your child will attend in-person learning. 2. Develop a daily weekday routine. Have your child wake up at the same time every day, dress for school, eat breakfast, etc. Days when your child is not scheduled to come for in-person learning, have them use the drive time to school to organize their learning materials and prepare for distance learning or to take care of a chore or two before starting their class. 3. Develop organizational skills. Organizing school supplies and textbooks to carry back and forth will be a new but necessary step. Items left at home cannot be shared at school under guidelines, so students must come prepared each day. Teachers will provide lists; please print and support your child when packing backpacks. 4. Have your child practice wearing a mask around the house. Returning to school will require your child to wear a mask throughout the day (except for when s/he is eating or drinking). Have your child begin practicing wearing a facial covering during the day. More information can be found on Kaiser’s Help Your Child Wear A Mask article. 5. Read Newsletters. Teachers will be updating families about what they need to do to prepare for class. Do read those newsletters for important updates. A Few Benefits of Hybrid Learning

Please let me know if you have questions. Thanks, Grant Padmos Academic Dean october 8, 2020
Dear Parents, We want to share with you some of the details we have "ironed out" in advance of the reopening of our elementary division. Please see the Elementary Reopening Update here. If you have not yet let your child's classroom teachers know your decision regarding in-person or 100% remote learning, that information would be very helpful to their planning, so I encourage you to send a quick email when you have a moment. Thank you for your continued support and blessing. Blessings, Peta Siacor 5th Grade Teacher/ Elementary Lead october 10, 2020
Hello CCCMS Camp Athletes! Sports Camp Protocol - MUST READ Camp will begin next week, Oct. 13! Attached is the protocol that we will be following for running camp. PLEASE read through the entire document in order to follow all protocols. I will highlight a few items below, but there is a lot more that you need to know in that document. Your groups are below as well. Team Gartside will begin Oct. 19 and go Monday and Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving which this year is during our Parent/Teacher Conferences. If these times and dates don't work for you, let me know so I can adjust cohorts. Camp times as of now are 3:30-5:00. Soccer times may change to 3:15 once school begins. Due to outside conflicts, practices will not begin before 3:15 for soccer. Once school begins for Middle School, both basketball camp teams will begin at 2:30. AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to staying in compliance with county health ordinances, athletes need to choose between doing band after school OR sports, not both. We have to keep our cohorts of 14 the same and cannot break those groups. Protocol: SOCCER: Enter on Mallard through the break in the fence along the first baseline (not through the gate by the first base line) . BASKETBALL: Enter through the playground gate (right next to the double gate) from Mallard. Equipment will be available for those who want it. Athletes are welcome to use school equipment or bring your own. Equipment will be sanitized before and after camp.
There is much more to read, please do so here: Sports Camp Protocol - MUST READ If weather becomes an issue, your camp fees will be evaluated. If you miss camp, fees will not be reimbursed. Camps are Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:00. Times may be adjusted once athletes return to school. Thank you, Cassie Faber, Middle School Athletics Director october 22, 2020

We have finally arrived at the point of hybrid learning for middle and high school students. We are excited to have them return to school; even if it is only two days each week. To prepare for school next week, we would like to share with you what you can do to prepare your son/daughter for school, what we have done, and expectations for students while on campus. understand that some parents and students might not be ready to return yet. We understand that some families may not be ready to have their child(ren) return yet. If this is where you are, and you would prefer to continue with distance learning only at this time, please complete this form. To prepare for hybrid learning, please take note of the following things:
Middle school students will be expected to wear their facial covering during P.E. Their P.E. teacher will give them time to remove their facial covering for a “breather” while they are socially distanced at least 8 feet apart. As a reminder, there is no P.E. for high school students until second semester.
In preparation to receive students on campus, please note the following:
While on campus, we are expecting students to:
It should be noted that students who do not adhere to the COVID-19 protocols will not be allowed to continue with in-person instruction. Students will not be allowed to switch back and forth from in-person instruction to distance-learning. Students wanting to change between the two must receive permission from the principal. Dear Families, As you are likely aware, new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and the positivity rate are all rising at a rapid rate in the Bay Area and throughout California as we have been designated at the purple tier level once again. While the current county and state guidelines technically allow us to continue in-person instruction (since we are already open), we are well aware that this could change any time. Additionally, we are aware that numerous members of our school community will be traveling and/or gathering in larger social groups for the upcoming Thanksgiving break. During this time of increased uncertainty, the school board of directors and administration have unanimously decided to toggle the K-12 program to 100% distance learning from November 30th - December 18th (6 days of on-site instruction). This adjustment will allow families to travel (or gather) and then complete the self-quarantine recommendations of public health officials. We remain hopeful that students will be able to resume the hybrid schedule in January when we return from Christmas Break. This has been an agonizing decision and we understand that this news will be very disappointing to many of our families and students. We also understand that this move will impact childcare and other logistical issues for many families, but we have compelling reasons to proactively make this decision at this time including:
While we are confident that this is the most prudent decision at this time, we are deeply concerned about the overall well-being of our students. We are working with our team to identify ways in which we can better support students over this upcoming 3 week period of distance learning and beyond. We are particularly concerned about ways in which we can support our students through encouragement, prayer, corporate worship, and social interaction. Please be on the lookout for invitations to participate in these opportunities. We want to thank you for your continued support and partnership. As our students begin the Thanksgiving Break this weekend, our teachers are looking forward to connecting with you at Zoom conferences on the 23rd or 24th. We hope that you have a happy and healthy celebration of Thanksgiving with your families. Warm regards, Chris Winters Head of School Tanya Williams Principal december 10, 2020
Dear CCCS Community, We pray that the advent season and the final days before the upcoming break are going well for you and your family. We are tentatively planning to welcome back students to the hybrid program (K-12) following the Christmas break and one week of distance learning (Jan 5-8) on Monday, January 11th. This period may be extended as needed in response to any pertinent developments ahead of the return date. While we would love to aim for an earlier date, the amount of anticipated community travel, large group gatherings, high community transmission, and high demand for COVID-19 testing (resulting in delays) makes it unwise to attempt to return prior to that date. Local Christian schools that have remained open following the Thanksgiving break have been reporting a sharp increase in positive tests and have routinely toggled cohorts to their respective distance learning programs. CCCS has now had two confirmed COVID-19 cases in our school community to date. We are thankful that with careful planning and God’s favor, we have had no known exposure to an actively symptomatic person in our on-site programs. CCCS has collaborated closely with Contra Costa Health Services on carefully following all contact tracing and confidentiality protocols in our handling of active cases. In order to minimize risks following the break, we are taking the following actions:
In order to return to on-site classes on January 11th, we are requiring the following:
Summary of recent developments (CCHS, CCOE, Christian School reports etc.)
Just to be sure everything is clear:
Thank you so much for your partnership and support. We are greatly appreciative of the grace and love you have extended to us in this difficult season. We wish you all a Merry Christmas full of love, health, and good cheer. Kind regards, Chris Winters Head of School january 7, 2021
Dear CCCS Community, We are thankful for the opportunity to be back in our distance learning program this week as we continue to prepare for the return to the Hybrid program on Monday, January 11 as previously announced. Our staff have been completing COVID testing this week as planned and we anticipate being able to fully resume our Hybrid program on Monday. Contra Costa Health Services is currently reporting a daily case rate of 42 new positive tests per 100,000 residents. While the transmission rate is high, we are confident in our continued safety measures including face masks, sanitization protocols, and air filtration. For those who would rather continue in distance learning we will continue to support that option. As we announced in December, we have the following requirements for students returning to the Hybrid program on January 11:
Please be advised that we will be closely monitoring student and staff health in compliance with our COVID-19 opening plan. Any positive tests or symptomatic staff may result in decisions to toggle cohorts or divisions back to distance learning at the discretion of administration. Such decisions will be communicated directly to the cohorts which are impacted by the decision in the most timely manner possible. In addition, we continue to work closely with CCHS and the local community of private school administrators as we exercise discretion in our decision making. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S. February 4, 2021
Dear Parents, Thank you for your continued partnership with CCCS. We are thankful for the ongoing safety and success of our hybrid program as we continue to navigate the school through the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions. In this update, I would like to touch on the following areas to give you the most accurate information and clear up some of the misinformation that we are hearing at the present time.
Current State & County Restrictions CCCS has been operating as an “open school” with a hybrid plan in compliance with current state and county guidelines. Contrary to some reports, the state has only intensified requirements for “open schools” as we now have additional requirements including:
Public School “Openings” You may have heard that select public schools are now planning to “Open”. As educators, we definitely cheer on the public schools that are moving forward with plans to transition select grade levels and students to hybrid programs which include some on-site learning for students. While the headlines surely grab the attention of our community, careful reading of the articles and the school district websites point to limited opportunities for on-site learning for select grade levels and rigorous distancing requirements. The reality remains that the few private schools that are currently open for daily instruction and are in compliance with state and county guidelines are able to do so with very limited class sizes of 12-16 students. Larger schools that are planning transitions include hybrid plans that aim to get certain grade levels on campus a limited number of hours weekly or in some cases bi-weekly in order to comply with the strict guidance we continue to receive. Moving toward more on-site learning at CCCS CCCS administration is working toward adjusting our hybrid plan to allow for increased on-site learning for our students this spring. There are several hurdles that we must clear in order to create a transition plan that adheres to the current restrictions. Here are some of the considerations we are addressing as we work on these plans:
I hope that this information gives you some additional clarity on our game plan going forward. We will update you with more details about our spring plans once we work out the remaining obstacles. Thank you so much for your continued patience and support. Kind regards, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School march 8, 2021
Dear Parents, We are pleased to announce that we will be transitioning to a revised hybrid plan which will allow for 4 days (Mon-Thurs) of on-site instruction for all K-12 divisions beginning March 15th. Families who wish to remain in or transition to distance only will be allowed to do so for the remainder of this school year. If you decide to switch between on-site and distance learning please fill out the Request for Model Change Form (click here). K-12 families will need to choose between the 4 days on-site model or the 100% distance learning model. We understand that many families will need to make significant adjustments to their schedules and we will do our best to be flexible and offer grace during the first week of the transition. Key developments in preparation for the 4 day on-site transition:

Middle School Traffic Procedures

Thank you so much for your continued partnership, flexibility, and support. Blessings, Chris Winters, Ed.S. Head of School april 30, 2021
Dear CCCS Community, We would like to inform you that we have been notified about a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of our school community. The individual who tested positive (the "case") was last on school premises on Thursday, April 29th. All school areas where the case spent time will be cleaned and disinfected before they are in use again. Our school is working with Contra Costa Health Services to follow up with the case and we are reaching out to all persons who are identified as having had close contact with the case to recommend home quarantine and COVID-19 testing for these households. If you or your child are not contacted, it means that you or your child were not identified as exposed to the case. Due to the logistics of this exposure, several middle school teachers have been exposed and will need to isolate away from the campus until May 10th. As a result, the middle school program (grades 6-8) will be toggling to distance learning from May 3rd to May 7th in compliance with our COVID-19 safety plan. Any siblings of exposed students will also be asked to isolate for the next week and toggle to distance learning through May 7th. Ensuring the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff members is of the utmost importance to us. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our contact tracing team Kerin Jensen [email protected] or Kara Johnston [email protected]. For more information on COVID-19, please visit https://www.coronavirus.cchealth.org/. Thank you so much for your understanding and support as we implement our COVID-19 prevention plan in compliance with state and local authorities. Sincerely, Chris Winters Head of School may 7, 2021
Hello Families, Don’t forget that we are expecting the return of our middle school students in school Monday, May 10th, as long as you are COVID-19 symptom free. We miss seeing your beautiful faces. Your teachers will be back and middle school sports will resume. Out of abundance of caution, and per compliance with our COVID-19 safety protocol, we asked some to quarantine and all to move to distance learning for the week. Thank you for doing so. We have not had any additional cases of COVID-19. Praise God! Please remember your face covering, follow social distancing recommendations, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our contact tracing team Kerin Jensen [email protected] or Kara Johnston [email protected]. Blessings, Ms. Tanya LaTanya Williams, Ed.D.
