Rod Tos (1983)
Rod currently lives in Alamo, California with his wife of 36 years, Karen. They have two sons together (now married), one living in Denver, Colorado with his wife, and the other one living in Houston, Texas along with Rod and Karen’s two grandchildren. Rod is recently retired after a long career of 36 years with Chevron. He remains active as he enjoys skiing, biking, hiking, and playing golf.
After graduating from CCCS Rod went to Calvin College (now University) for his BA in Business and Psychology, to Purdue University for his MBA in Consumer Marketing, and then was hired by Chevron. Chevron moved Rod and his family all over the country five different times before settling permanently in Alamo in 1999.
Rod remembers that CCCS was foundational in equipping to see that God is present and should be honored in all facets of life. God is not only to be praised in church (which is the logical place), but also in the workforce, at home and in recreation—his creation testifies to His majesty, power and might! Rod remembers fondly how teachers like Mr. Dykhuizen (Bible), Mr. Feenstra (Science), and Mr. Gizzi (PE) all reinforced the understanding that “the Whole World Belongs to God”.
Rod’s two favorite memories were beating Berean (main rival at the time) in basketball at the Oakland Coliseum Arena, and then defeating Pescadero to win the 1982 league championship in men’s baseball.
Rod and his wife continue to enjoy living in Alamo which has a rural town vibe close to Mt. Diablo for hiking and enjoying God's great creation.

Deb Van Duyn de Jong (1990)
Deb currently lives in Nampa, Idaho. She is married to Simon de Jong and they have five young adult children (ages 20-26).
After graduating from CCCS, Deb attended Calvin College (now University) in Michigan for a BA in Humanities / Secondary Education. After graduating, she moved to the San Diego area to teach and coach. This is where she also met Simon and started her family. Guided by God’s provision in all things, Deb and Simon and their young family moved to Nampa in 2004. They have an amazing church and school family that they partnered with for many years. Deb got her Masters in Education from Dordt University in Iowa (2021), and since 2017 has been back in the classroom at Nampa Christian School; recently serving as the K-12 Academic Dean at the school. She also helps to professionally develop others schools’ teachers in their educational goals and objectives—locally through Northwest Nazarene University and across the country as a consultant with the Herzog Foundation.
Deb remembers that CCCS provided so many growth opportunities. She is deeply grateful for the dedicated and gracious donors who gave launch to this school and for the many teachers who selflessly gave of their time and talents to teach distinctly Christian. Deb was blessed to be involved in many sports, drama, music and student council. She was especially grateful for the four years of Spanish that she was able to take to help springboard her college studies. To this day, Deb and her husband have had the opportunity to take young people on several mission trips to Mexico and her love of Spanish was something that was spawned at CCCS.
Although she had a hard time picking just one, Deb's favorite memories of CCCS were the spiritual retreats that she participated in while at CCCS. She still remembers a speaker one year having everyone shout out “Good morning Lord, good morning world! It is a great day to be a child of God empowered to do wonderful things for your Kingdom!” every morning. The games, the class competitions, the speakers, the campfire worship were all so formational and deeply impactful for her in her walk with the Lord and her place in this world.

Austin’s fondest memories are mostly connected to lifelong friendships that were built in high school. He is also deeply grateful to Mr Geertsen, or “Mr. G”, who developed and fostered his love for engineering and science through the many fun science experiments in class. He is also deeply grateful for the profound impact Mrs. Reed made on his life as a teacher, mentor and later, friend. She helped develop his love of learning and his affinity for writing and literature.
Austin’s favorite memories of CCCS are the mischief that he got into with his friends. “Am I allowed to say that I teepeed Mrs. Reed’s house and Saran wrapped her car?” He also fondly remembers senior lunch breaks in Aaron Park’s Mustang … always an adventure!

Kelsey Leegwater Johanson (2010)
Kelsey currently lives in Concord California. She recently married her husband Zachary Johanson in the fall of 2023. After graduating from CCCS, Kelsey started taking courses at DVC (including a study abroad in Italy) and then transferred to Cal State Long Beach for a BA in Graphic Design. Kelsey currently works at The Luxury Collection in Walnut Creek (a luxury vehicle dealership) and has been employed there for the last nine years.
Kelsey has fond memories of CCCS as she attended the school from Preschool through 12th grade! She also remembers her grandparents being significant supporters of the school, which she loved!
While a student at CCCS, Kelsey was heavily involved in all of the sports creating a true sense of family and the ability to work together. She credits her current ability to work well in a team setting at her employment to her roles on sports teams at CCCS. She loved being part of a small close-knit community instilling resilience. As she put it—there is a unique sense of pressure that comes with everyone knowing you so well and knowing your goals etc. You couldn’t hide, it came with the territory. It pushed me to work harder, hold myself accountable and embrace the challenges head-on. This experience is what has helped shape my drive and determination to this day.
Kelsey still has two best friends in her life from her time at CCCS. And even though they live great distances away, it is these friends that she counts on and depends on.

Ethan Faber (2022)
Ethan currently lives in Sioux Center, Iowa as a student during the school year and in Walnut Creek, CA during the summer. Ethan is a Lifer as he started at CCCS in preschool. His siblings Addison (2024) and Carson (2026) have followed suit. His mom Cassie Millar Faber (1991) is a graduate of CCC as well as long time teacher/athletic director at the school, and his dad Joel Faber is currently on the board at CCC and he also taught at the school years ago.
After graduating from CCCS, Ethan enrolled at Dordt University in Iowa because of its greatly valued discipleship of believers as well as its excellent engineering program. Ethan has just finished up his junior year at the school and looks forward to going back for his senior year to complete his degree. He is currently working at Stantec HVAC Systems in San Francisco for an engineering internship that he is excited about.
Ethan says that CCCS gave him an excellent foundation for his faith, and then in addition gave him the academic skills to excel at the university level. The excellent study habits he gained in high school are habits he still carries with him today and helped him adapt to the college study life. It was his teachers and chaplains that showed him how to live and serve in light of the good news and events like the Service Retreat shaped him and helped him view service as an essential part of the Christian life.
Ethan has many great memories from his time at CCCS, but the Spikeball tournaments at lunch time (every single day) was what he remembers the most fondly!
