Drama at our school is full of energy, creativity, passion and fellowship! Students in grades 6–12 come together to rehearse, sing, dance, and act while discovering the amazing talents God has placed in them. We put on two exciting productions each year—one in the fall and one in the spring. Whether you’re on stage or behind the scenes, Drama is a place to make friends, share laughter, grow in confidence, and see how theater can bring people joy while drawing us closer to God.

Cappuccino! (Fall 2024)

The best musical comedy this side of the ‘90s! It’s the opening day of Cool Beans coffee shop and the two owners, Stacy and Olivia (best friends since forever), think they're prepared for a successful business– as if! Shenanigans, deception, and crazy competitions ensue as each character enters Cool Beans.

Book and lyrics by Jennifer Oertel and Addison Faber
Music by Briget Boyle

Crazy For You (spring 2024)

A zany rich-boy-meets-hometown-girl romantic comedy, Crazy For You tells the story of young New York banker Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker, the theatre owner’s daughter. But Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker, so Bobby vows – through cunning, razzmatazz, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity – to win Polly’s heart and save the theatre.

Music and Lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin

Murder at the O’Malley In (fall 2023)

It’s another lovely Christmas season at the O’Malley Inn. The caretakers, Jan and Frank Garby, make sure their guests feel welcome. But when a blizzard makes it impossible to leave, this eclectic group of guests are in for more than what was on the brochure… murder! Suddenly everyone is a suspect. With four different endings, three original songs, and hilarious physical comedy, Murder at the O’Malley Inn brings out the laughter in manslaughter!

 Guys and Dolls (spring 2023)

Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result.

Book by Abe Burrows and Jo Sterling
Music by Frank Loesser

Miracle on Cell Block 6 (fall 2022)

It’s Christmas Eve and five Christmas characters (snobby Mrs. Claus, feminist Jill Frost, innkeepers Morty and Deb Steinberg, and philosophical-but-only-able-to-grunt Abominable Snowman) have landed themselves in jail. Over the course of the night, they share their arrest stories with each other. In a bizarre twist of fate, the stories are all connected to a youth group’s Christmas pageant at Dream and Esteem Church. This uproaringly funny Christmas caper includes other characters like the mentally-tortured Scrooge and the fist-bumping and stereotypical youth pastor, Youth Pastor Brian.

Here are CCCS, we believe that music is a gift from God and is a unique way to express our worship to Him. We are so grateful that all of our students have access to music education! Beginning in Kindergarten, and continuing all the way through High School, all of our students have the opportunity to learn and perform music in many different ways. From classroom instruments, to ukulele, to being in Band and Choir, our students have the opportunity to develop their musical talents every year.

Our Elementary students learn the basics of music through singing, playing classroom instruments, and other fun activities in their music classes. In third grade, students have the opportunity to learn the recorder, and in fourth grade, the ukulele. Then in fifth grade, every student gets to learn a Band instrument! Our Elementary students also perform in two programs during the year - a Christmas Musical and Spring Performance - to showcase what they have been learning.

In Middle School, students continue in Band and begin Choir, where they learn more challenging music, and have more performing opportunities. We have two large performances each year (winter and spring), but also perform at Open House and an annual Band Festival.

Our High School students are able to continue performing in Band, where they perform in even more events like our annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Homecoming Basketball games. These students get to experience many different styles of music, from classical to jazz, to even some Broadway tunes!
